Ocoee resident appointed as judge on Orange County Court

Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Steven Miller to the Orange County bench on Monday, June 2.

Ocoee's Steven Miller has been appointed as a judge on the Orange County Court.

Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Miller on Monday, June 2, to the Ninth Circuit Court of Florida. 

Miller will fill the vacancy created by Judge Evellen Jewett's retirement.

He has served as an assistant state attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit since 2021.

This will not be the first time he has served at the Ninth Judicial Circuit. He previously served as an assistant state attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. 

Miller received a bachelors degree from the University of Central Florida and his juris doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law.
